Nguyen Kim Thai

Painter Nguyen Kim Thai was born in 1943, graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts, and works mainly on oil paints, lacquers and silks. She has exhibited in France and won many domestic art awards, known as the first female painter of the Doi Moi period.
Entering the "old and rare age", when asked why she continued to paint nude subjects, the female artist simply replied: "I don't paint nudes, I only paint primitive women". It seems that the older she gets, the more she paints with a more modern mindset and fresh perspective. Not the fragile, graceful beauty like the beauty in Trinh's music "my shoulders are thin and small, like the wings of a cauldron going to a far away place", the woman in Kim Thai's painting is beautiful, innocent, and her body is still standing. Spring, or have gone through labor, seem fertile and pure. Looking at her paintings, artist and art researcher Tran Thuc said: "Vitality and youth are a reflection and a prominent feeling when I come into contact with female artist Kim Thai's gallery. Not only the subject, but through the expression of colors, lines, and shapes present through the composition, has created a rich aesthetic beauty with inner depth of the author. The stout, square, sweet, stylized blocks are seductive. The curvilinear lines that connect, knot, or harmonize are full of entangled thoughts, which are the restless inner movement of Kim Thai paintings on the journey to find new things. And that new thing is the endless aspiration of art in general and Kim Thai's beauty world in particular."
